Mrs. Christy Girffith, Principal

Welcome to Bishop Primary School!

I am thrilled and honored to serve as the principal of Bishop Primary. It is a privilege to be part of the Bishop community and Badger Nation, and I look forward to partnering with families, students, and staff to ensure a successful school year.

I earned a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's degree in Educational Administration, both from Texas A&M University–Kingsville, along with a Counseling Certification. I began my journey in education 20 years ago as a high school English Language Arts teacher. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to teach a wide range of grades, including kindergarten, fifth, seventh, and eighth grade, as well as freshman ELA.

Six years ago, I transitioned into a counseling role at the primary level, where I served for two years before becoming the Assistant Principal. Now, as Principal, I remain deeply committed to supporting every student’s academic and emotional growth.

At Bishop Primary, we are dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where all children can thrive. I look forward to an exciting year ahead filled with growth, learning, and strong partnerships.

Warm regards,
Christy Griffith

Miss Debra Clarke, School Nurse

I have been in nursing for 33 years. The majority of my nursing career has been caring for children, including employment at Driscoll Children's Hospital, at a pediatric office, and in home health before taking my current position as the school nurse at Bishop Primary and Petronila Elementary. I am honored to be a part of the Bishop CISD family and look forward to continuing my nursing career as a member of this team.
